Burchett blasts Twitter for censorship, bias against Trump Administration officials

October 15, 2020

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 15, 2020) – Yesterday, tensions escalated between the social media company Twitter and White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany after Twitter suspended the Press Secretary's account for sharing a negative New York Post article about former Vice President Joe Biden. U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement regarding Twitter's censorship:

"Twitter's latest controversy stinks of corruption, and the actions of its leadership are unacceptable. By censoring the Press Secretary, Twitter appears to favor certain politicians and political agendas. Social media is used for sharing different ideas and opinions, and it's dangerous when one group censors another just because they don't agree or like what they're saying."
