Congressman Burchett kicks off Tim’s Tours with a focus on composting, recycling and waste facilities

July 28, 2022

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (July 28, 2022) – During the month of August while the U.S. House of Representatives is out of session, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) is launching Tim’s Tours, a series of focused outreach visits to businesses, organizations, manufacturing plants and other facilities that will help inform his legislative work in Washington. This recess, Tim’s Tour will spotlight various types of composting, recycling and waste facilities, from landfills to recycling centers.

“I’m going to have a lot more time back home in the district this month, and I want to do something useful with it,” said Rep. Burchett. “These tours will give me the chance to learn more about industries that greatly impact East Tennesseans, and I’m excited to get a crash course on how these facilities operate.”

Rep. Burchett recently introduced the bipartisan Recycling and Composting Accountability Act, which would require the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to collect data on recycling and composting in the United States.
