Congressman Burchett sits down with legendary Hall of Fame guitarist and songwriter Steve Cropper on the latest episode of Tennessee Talks

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., (Oct. 19, 2022) –The latest episode of U.S. Representative Tim Burchett’s (TN-02) podcast, Tennessee Talks, is now available. In this episode, legendary Hall of Fame guitarist and songwriter Steve Cropper sits down with Rep. Burchett to discuss his renowned music career writing hit songs and playing guitar with some of the greatest artists in our nation’s history.
Steve Cropper wrote and played guitar for iconic songs such as the #1 smash hit “Green Onions” with Booker T. & The M.G.’s and “(Sittin’ On) the Dock of the Bay” with Otis Redding. He also played guitar for the iconic song “Soul Man” by soul duo Sam & Dave, which was the #2 song on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 1967.
Steve is featured in both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame. In 2004, he received the Tennessee Arts and Humanities Life Time Achievement Award, and in 2007 he received a Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award.
