WASHINGTON, D.C., (March 11, 2025) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement after voting in favor of a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through September 30, 2025.
"Since I've been here, this is the first time that actual cuts have been made and we have reduced the size of government," said Rep. Burchett. "There's $14 billion worth of cuts to non-defense discretionary spending, and it doesn't touch Medicare or Medicaid. I voted to keep the government open so that President Trump, his cabinet, and my colleagues and I can continue down the path of limited government."
