NFIB recognizes Congressman Burchett with Guardian of Small Business award
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 21, 2020) – Yesterday, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) announced its “Guardian of Small Business” award recipients. U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) was among the winners recognized by the NFIB.
"It is an honor to receive the ‘Guardian of Small Business’ award from the NFIB and I’m proud of my small business voting record in Congress,” Rep. Burchett said. “As a state legislator, county mayor, and now as a Congressman, the success of small business owners and their employees has always been a top priority of mine. The entrepreneurial spirit helps our country’s economy grow and solve problems Americans face every day, and I will continue to support small businesses in the House of Representatives."
During his first term in Congress, Rep. Burchett has advanced small business legislation through the House. This includes the bipartisan H.R. 6078, the Microloan Transparency and Accountability Act, which would incentivize Small Business Administration microloan subsidiaries to provide more financial resources to rural small businesses.
The NFIB “Guardian of Small Business” award is given to members of Congress with a voting record of 70% on key small business issues. Award recipients are determined by their score on the NFIB’s How Congress Voted report.
