Rep. Burchett applauds Israel-United Arab Emirates agreement to normalize relationship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 13, 2020) – Today, government leaders from the United States, Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced a new agreement to normalize the relationship between Israel and the UAE. This new agreement will include bilateral cooperation between Israel and the UAE on commerce, tourism, energy, technology, healthcare and other important issues.

Following the announcement of this new agreement, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement:

"Better cooperation between Israel and the UAE will improve Middle East stability. This historic agreement ties together two of the Middle East’s most prosperous nations, increasing the amount of information, resources and culture they share. Our friends across the Middle East will benefit from working together, and I appreciate the Trump Administration’s role in these negotiations."
