Rep. Burchett invites Ambassador Ashe to attend joint meeting of Congress
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 2, 2019) – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will address a joint meeting of Congress at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, in the House of Representatives Chamber of the U.S. Capitol. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) invited former U.S. Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe to attend as his guest. Nominated by President George W. Bush, Ashe served as ambassador to Poland from 2004 to 2009.
“Ambassador Ashe is the only living resident of Tennessee’s second congressional district who served as an ambassador to a NATO nation,” said Rep. Burchett. “This is the first time a NATO Secretary General has addressed a joint meeting of Congress, and I’m glad Ambassador Ashe is able to attend.”
