Rep. Burchett statement on voting in favor of budget resolution

WASHINGTON, D.C., (February 25, 2025) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement after voting in favor of H.Con.Res.14, establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

“Everyone knows how I feel about our fiscal responsibility. This bill is where we start to right some of our wrongs. This budget resolution requires over a trillion dollars in mandatory savings over 10 years, and gives us a pathway to grow the economy by over two and a half trillion. President Trump and I spoke about our priorities which include securing our border, reducing the debt and inflation, cutting our spending, and leading with fiscal responsibility. He's asked us to give him a starting point and I thought this was it."
