KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (August 24, 2022) – Today, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) released the following statement in response to President Biden’s announced plan to forgive $10,000 in student loan debt for individuals earning up to $125,000 per year:

“President Biden’s latest scheme will force taxpayers to fund higher education for the wealthy elite. Hardworking Americans with jobs that don’t require a college diploma should not be forced to pay for someone else’s Gender Studies degree.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 12, 2022) – Today, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) voted against the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act. 

“You never reduce burdens – or inflation – by increasing taxes $745 billion. You simply create more government that will never go away,” said Rep. Burchett. “Democrats need to learn a lesson or two from Tennessee, where we reduced taxes and regulations and now have record surpluses and thriving businesses.”

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (August 10, 2022) – Today, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) published opinion piece in the Washington Examiner discussing the need for increased government transparency on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs), also known as UFOs.

In his piece, Rep. Burchett criticizes the lack of helpful information in Pentagon reports and the public congressional hearing and calls for more information to be released.

This recess, Tim’s Tour will spotlight various types of composting, recycling and waste facilities, from landfills to recycling centers.
