Adam Kinzinger (IL-16) reintroduced the Passport Backlog Elimination Act, bipartisan legislation to eliminate the passport processing backlog created by the coronavirus pandemic.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 22, 2021) – Today, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) called out the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs for its slow processing of passport applications and lack of communication regarding the status of applications.

In a letter to Ian G. Brownlee, Acting Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Rep. Burchett conveyed confusion is growing among East Tennesseans due to insufficient information about their passport applications.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 19, 2021) – U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) reintroduced H.R. 3270, the Protecting Jobs and Wages from Regulations Act, legislation focused on reforming the regulatory process at federal agencies.
 
"When a federal agency proposes a new regulation, the public has the right to know why it's necessary and what effects it will have on the economy." Rep. Burchett said. "Unelected federal bureaucrats sometimes make bad decisions that harm workers' employment or pay.
