WASHINGTON, D.C., (Sept. 20, 2023) Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) announced he will not accept a salary during a government shutdown.  

“A government shutdown is right around the corner, yet our leaders fail to act. Now we are going to punish hardworking Americans and once again exempt Congress. This is unacceptable. If we go into a shutdown I refuse to be paid until it’s over.” said Rep. Burchett.

WASHINGTON, D.C., (Sept. 14, 2023) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) voted in favor of H.R. 1435, the Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act. This bill amends the Clean Air Act to prohibit the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency from granting waivers that limit the use or sale of new cars with gas-powered engines.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 8, 2023) – Today, U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) and U.S. Congressman Sean Casten (IL-06) introduced the Educators Expense Deduction Modernization Act. This bill would increase the amount of money qualified teachers may deduct on certain out-of-pocket classroom expenses on their annual tax returns from $250 to $1,000.

Monheim. The members asked for follow-up information regarding David Grusch’s testimony in the recent hearing on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs).
