KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Jan 26, 2021) – The Republican Steering Committee has recommended U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) remain on the House Foreign Affairs Committee for the 117th Congress. On returning to the Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Burchett said he is ready to get to work on creating a more peaceful world, holding adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party and the Iranian regime accountable, standing up for Israel and keeping American military members out of harm's way.

U.S Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) was among the Republican members assigned to the committee. Regarding his new position, Rep. (Jan. 21, 2021) – Shortly after President Joe Biden assumed office yesterday, staff in the office of the U.S. Ambassador to Israel changed the embassy's name on Twitter to "U.S. Ambassador to Israel, the West Bank and Gaza." Although the account name has since been changed back to "U.S. Ambassador to Israel", U.S. Representative and member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Tim Burchett (TN-02) is questioning the Biden administration's commitment to the United States' role in keeping a peaceful Middle East.

"President Trump showed extremely poor leadership on Wednesday, but there is no good Constitutional argument for this impeachment effort. Speaker Pelosi knows the Senate will not try this case before the President leaves office, so another impeachment will only worsen divisions, rather than uniting our country."
