The legislation also included multi-year spending authorizations for certain initiatives, such as addressing Amtrak's budget shortfall. Rep. (Sept. 15, 2020) – The U.S. Capitol may be closed to visitors, but U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) wants to make sure 2nd District residents are still able to learn about the historic building and grounds, whether in-person or virtually over the internet. Today, Rep. Burchett launched a Virtual Capitol Tour Experience, a guided video tour of the United States Capitol Building that will be available on his official website and social media accounts.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 14, 2020) – Today, U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02) reached a significant achievement for his first term in Congress. The House of Representatives unanimously passed the Microloan Transparency and Accountability Act, the first piece of legislation authored by Rep. Burchett to pass the House. U.S. Representative Andy Kim (NJ-03) joined Rep. Burchett to introduce this bipartisan bill.

"Judge Reeves was a good friend, and she'll be missed. Not only did she have a remarkable legal and public service career but, as the first female Chief Judge of the Eastern District of Tennessee, she was a trailblazer. Charles and her entire family are in my prayers."

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 4, 2020) – Earlier this week, the independent Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported U.S. public debt will be larger than gross domestic product (GDP) by 2021. The CBO also found the federal budget deficit will be $3.3 trillion in 2020.

U.S. Representative Tim Burchett (TN-02), reacting to the CBO's report, called it troubling for U.S. public finances and stressed that Congress should account for these projections in future spending.
